Widespread online criticism followed reports of a social media user secretly filming a young woman sitting on her private residential balcony, sharing the footage online, and engaging in degrading, suggestive remarks regarding price with a friend, despite having no personal acquaintance with the victim.

In the recorded interaction, an acquaintance commented “1,500,” to which the original poster responded, “Too expensive, 250 is enough.”

The victim’s sister issued a public community alert in a local Bang Bo news group, seeking assistance in identifying the individual and offering a 5,000-baht reward for verifiable information leading to his identity, noting that formal police reports had already been filed to pursue the strictest legal action for harassment and privacy invasion. Shortly afterward, she confirmed that the individual’s identity had been successfully tracked down with help from the online community.

The accused party subsequently published an apology, admitting that sharing the footage caused harm, stating that he acted thoughtlessly and without intent, and asking for forgiveness from the victim, her family, and fellow apartment residents.

Prominent television host Num Kanchai commented directly on the post, stating, “I’d rather hear it from your own mouth than read it… drop by if you’re free, I’ll be waiting.” The man responded to the host, explaining that he had merely been recording street-level flooding and oncoming rain when the camera caught the woman, though he apologized again for the derogatory comments that followed.

Netizens largely dismissed his explanation of “thoughtlessness,” arguing that deliberate, demeaning remarks cannot be excused as an unintentional mistake. The victim’s family has reiterated that they intend to see the legal proceedings through to the end.
