Legal proceedings surrounding cosmetics manufacturer founder Mae Phat broadened to include the private medical transport crew accused of forcibly removing her from her residence in February 2024.
Accompanied by Saimai Tongrod founder Ekkaphop Luengprasert and Wang Thonglang police officers, Mae Phat visited her former manufacturing premises on Lat Phrao 62 to point out where two transport workers allegedly seized her, covered her mouth, and forced her into an ambulance van while her cries for neighbor assistance were silenced.
During a call-in to Hone Krasae, ambulance driver Theeraphong claimed his team acted in good faith based on a private hire arranged by the son, denying that force or physical abuse was used and asserting that Mae Phat had exhibited violent behavior requiring containment. Program hosts and legal representatives pushed back firmly, pointing out that transporting an individual without medical certificates, psychiatric authorizations, or official orders constitutes unauthorized detention under the law, advising the driver to report directly to police.
Attorney Kaew (Dr. Montchai Jongkrairattanakul) noted that actions involving unlawful restraint, coercion, assault, and trespass carry significant penalties under the Criminal Code. Police Colonel Jessada Yangnok, Superintendent of Wang Thonglang Police Station, stated that investigations are divided between the son’s alleged asset theft and the unlawful detention complaints against the transport crew.
On subsequent midday broadcasts, host Num Kanchai revealed updated findings from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, the organizational affiliate of the vehicle used in the incident. The foundation confirmed that the trip was an unauthorized private hire contracted for 15,000 baht without organizational sanction. Foundation leadership ordered an immediate suspension of the driver pending full investigation, reiterating that the organization had no involvement in the operation.
