Live TV Interrogation Exposes Contradictions in Daughter’s Narrative

The public narrative surrounding Mae Phat’s alleged confinement took an unexpected turn on Hone Krasae after host Num Kanchai and activist Ekkaphop Luengprasert closely questioned the actions of her daughter, Beam.

During the broadcast, Num Kanchai confronted Beam with a handwritten letter from February 2024 describing extreme domestic toxicity, physical altercations, and deep debt obligations. While Beam verified the handwriting as her own, the discussion raised questions over her past claims that she had no knowledge of her brother’s plan to take their mother to an unlicensed facility.

The host further challenged Beam’s accounts of why she failed to search for her mother for an extended period. When Beam claimed she had fallen from a mountain in Japan, breaking four front teeth, Num presented conflicting information alleging she had actually fallen from a building while using a vape. Pressed on whether she had been deported from Japan for assault, Beam conceded she engaged in an altercation, though insisted she acted in self-defense.

Ekkaphop Luengprasert presented a direct critique before the mother, suggesting the brother and sister may have initially acted in tandem to sideline Mae Phat in order to access factory control and a 100,000-baht monthly allowance. He posited that Beam only began actively searching for her mother after funds ceased flowing and assets from the family safe were exhausted. When Ekkaphop asked Mae Phat whether she believed her children’s greatest miscalculation was confining her or letting her survive, Mae Phat painfully replied that she believed it was the latter, prompting Ekkaphop to urge her never to place unreserved trust in either child again.

Following the broadcast, Beam appeared on evening news program Ruang Den Yen Nee, acknowledging past adolescent outbursts and conflicts while insisting she loves her mother deeply, organized her eventual extraction alongside relatives, and remains dedicated to caring for her at home.
