The ongoing legal and familial saga surrounding 63-year-old cosmetics manufacturer founder “Mae Phat” escalated significantly as she formally launched sweeping criminal complaints against everyone involved in her alleged two-and-a-half-year confinement.
Accompanied by Ekkaphop Luengprasert of the Saimai Tongrod foundation, Mae Phat visited the police station on October 8, 2026, to file charges for unlawful detention and assault. The targets of the complaint include the two transport staff who removed her from her Lat Phrao home on February 21, 2024; facility operator “Pa Maew”; care center employees accused of physical abuse, forced medication, and intimidation; and her biological son, “Benz.”
At the police station, Mae Phat broke down in tears, firmly instructing officers to prosecute her son should evidence confirm his direct culpability, stating that his visible lack of remorse left her with no choice but to let legal procedures take their course. Because the alleged offenses spanned two jurisdictions from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi, local investigators or the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) may take direct charge of the broader case.
The move follows the full closure of the Kanchanaburi facility and the evacuation of all vulnerable residents, some of whom had allegedly been kept on-site for well over a decade.
Public reaction has grown increasingly complex. Social media commentators and popular analysis pages noted that while Mae Phat’s past family dynamics and personal temperament may have created intense domestic friction—as outlined in a newly surfaced letter written by her daughter Beam—interpersonal dysfunction cannot legally justify confining a parent in an unlicensed facility. Analysts continue to emphasize that domestic grievances and criminal accountability must be evaluated independently under the law.
